You&#39;ve previously also referred to the &#39;A&#39; head&#39;s 1/5000 sync speed. This just doesn&#39;t make any sense to me whatsoever. It&#39;s not up to the flashhead to determine sync afterall- it&#39;s the camera body. The only exception to this is the propriety manufacturer flash (Nikon does this) that &#39;pulsates&#39; as the shutter moves across the sensor. I highly doubt the Ranger would do this.
